The Adventure!
Each group will visit a building in Williamsburg, investigate a trade that was common in Williamsburg, and learn something about the people of Williamsburg.
First stop: A colonial building
Each of you is to visit a building located in Colonial Williamsburg. (Each group member must research a different building, so if your group has 2 people, go to 2 buildings, if your group has 3 people, then visit 3.) Choose from the buildings listed below. (At least 1 building must be one not talked about in class already.) You can take a quick look at them all then chose, or you can just close your eyes and click. It is completely up to you!
Now that you have chosen your building the next step is to find out some information about it. You may find information about your particular building by clicking on its name or by visiting the Virtual Tour site and clicking on the building.
When you are researching your building try to answer the following questions:
- Where is it located? (When you give your presentation, you will have to show us on this map where your building is in Colonial Williamsburg)
- What was the purpose of your building?
- Who would you find working, visiting, living etc. there?
- Also, write down anything interesting you find out that is unique to your building
You will use this information in your presentation and in your informative essay.
